Very practical. Yes, you will have to be very careful when doing wood parts. I am just wondering about the heat distribution ( much hotter close to the heater itself ) and if it may cause warping?

i built a similar one out of some scrap plywood it works well. most of the time i just fire up my coleman single burner stove & work the stock back & forth several inches away from the flame....
